The EU dropped its late-2026 target for ETIAS
The EU removed the late-2026 launch target for ETIAS, its planned travel authorization, so there is once again no start date. Our European guides no longer quote one.
Why it matters: There is nothing to apply for and nothing to pay. A US passport is still all you need for the Schengen area, and any site selling ETIAS today is selling something that does not exist yet.
