Brazil began requiring an e-visa from US citizens
Since April 2025, US citizens need a visitor e-visa to enter Brazil, about 81 dollars, applied for on the official VFS portal before boarding.
Why it matters: This reversed years of visa-free entry, so plans and older guides that assume none are out of date. Apply before you fly, on the official portal only.
