Greek bank ATMs dropped their withdrawal fees
Since August 2025, cash withdrawals at ATMs run by Greek banks, including Alpha Bank, National Bank of Greece, Eurobank and Piraeus, carry no local commission for any cardholder, and independent non-bank machines are legally capped at a modest fee, well down from the 2 to 4 euros they used to charge.
Why it matters: Your own bank's foreign fees can still apply, so a no-fee card still matters, but the Greek side of getting cash has gotten meaningfully cheaper.
