Germany: we removed Munich from the bed-tax list
We had listed Munich among German cities charging a bed tax. Bavaria banned local hotel taxes and its Constitutional Court upheld that ban in 2025, so Munich does not levy one. Berlin (7.5%), Cologne (5%), Hamburg (sliding scale) and Frankfurt (2 euros a night) are confirmed.
Why it matters: A Munich hotel bill carries no city bed tax, so if a booking site shows one, question it.
