Norway's visitor's contribution went live, in some places
Norway's new visitor's contribution took effect in the summer of 2026. It lets a municipality add up to 3% to overnight stays, and it is opt-in: the Lofoten islands are an approved early area, with Bergen, Tromso and others expected to follow.
Why it matters: Whether you pay depends on where you stay, so a Lofoten room now runs a little more while much of the country adds nothing.
